About Our Instructors

Owner / Master Instructor

Master Kevin Mathis is a 6th degree black belt in the art of Taekwondo.  He began his martial arts training at the age of 8 with his entire family under Grand Master Soon Ho Lee in Panama City, Florida .  By beginning at such a young age, traveling through the teenage years (graduating from FWB High School), and then becoming an instructor and school owner Master Mathis has a unique perspective on what it is like to grow up in Taekwondo.  Students of all ages can feel comfortable with his Pre-K, Junior, and Adult programs.  Family involvement is a large part of what he is teaching now in our community.  Master Mathis has been trained in many different areas of martial arts instruction including:

1- Weaponry
2- Krav Mega
3- Ground Fighting
4- Tai Chi

Master Mathis is also a 7 time World Champion point fighter, and helped the American team defeat South American in 1992 by winning the team competitions final match.  Along with his successful competition career, Master Mathis was chosen as a regional representative of instruction for NW Florida, Alabama, and .   His responsibilities included:  monitoring new instructors, educating them in teaching techniques, building their knowledge of teaching Pre-K students, and qualifying them for national instructor certification.  Master Mathis was also asked to be a member, turned head coach, of the American Taekwondo Associations famed World Demonstration Team.  During his four demonstration tours Master Mathis traveled to , , and even spreading Taekwondo around the world. 



Chief Instructor

Mr. Nathan Crosby is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo and a national certified instructor.  Mr. Crosby began his Taekwondo training as a teenager and has been active since.  After graduating from Fort Walton Beach High school , Mr. Crosby served our country as a member of the US Army and was even stationed in where the art of Taekwondo originated.  Mr. Crosby's attributes include:

1- Nationally Certified Instructor
2- Two Time Florida State Champion
3- Two Time Silver Medalist in World Championship Competition 

 Head Instructor

Mr. Dennis Barebo is also a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo.  Mr. Barebo is a local resident of Shalimar and has been running a Pre-K Tiny Tiger after school program at 1st Methodist Church for over 5 years.  He has been an instrumental part in the development of our Tiny Tiger Program and is now our head Tiny Tiger instructor.

Assistant Instructors

Megan Owens is a Fort Walton Beach High School student and two time Florida State Champion.  Ms. Owens is now 2nd degree black belt and a certified trainer in Taekwondo.  Captain of our local demonstration team Ms. Owens constantly helps us share Taekwondo with the community's young people. 

Angie Boker is also a 2nd degree black belt and certified trainer in Taekwondo.  Ms. Boker graduated from Choctaw High School as a choreographer and dance team member.  Her natural leadership is on display daily as she passes on her Taekwondo knowledge to all of our new students.
